Stephen McDonel of BBC explains what to careful at China's Annual National Congress (NPC), which began on Wednesday.

The weekly meeting is present nearly 3,000 delegates from provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities and armed forces. They lead through decisions that have already been made behind closed doors by party leaders.

However, the meeting signals the priorities of the Chinese Communist Party for the next year.

China's delayed economy, its investment in high -end technology, and the fall from US President Donald Trump's tariffs are expected to be high on the agenda.
