More than a week in wild fire in Los Angeles, the wildfires have already become the deadliest in California state history and are on pace to become the deadliest in the state.
The fire has so far destroyed at least 12,300 houses and killed 24 people, according to local officials. adults.

Is the fire still burning?
As of Tuesday morning, three of the six major fires in Los Angeles County were still burning. It includes:
- Palisades fire – 9,596 hectares (23,713 acres) were burned, 14 percent were.
- Eaton's fire – 5,713 hectares (14,117 acres) were burned, 33 percent were.
- Burning fire – 323 hectares (799 acres) were burned, 97 percent were.
Kenneth, Lidia and Sunset's fire is now 100 percent.

How big is the Los Angeles fire?
The LA fire has so far burned 16,425 hectares (40,588 acres) of land. That's about the size of Washington, DC, about half the size of Philadelphia, one-eighth the size of Los Angeles, or about 30,000 football fields.

California often experiences thousands of wildfires each year. These fires range from small brush fires to large fires, burning thousands of hectares.
In 2020, California recorded its largest wildfire in history. The August Complex Firecaused by lightning, burned more than 400,000 hectares (one million acres) in several states. The fire, fueled by dry conditions and extreme heat, was not extinguished until late October.
The following year, a Dixie fire burned 380,000 hectares (960,000 acres) and destroyed 1,300 homes, including the large town of Greenville in Plumas County.

Although the entire blaze was the size of the state of Rhode Island in the US, the fire killed only two people, largely due to the state issuing an evacuation order in sparsely populated areas.
The most destructive fire in California
The Palisades and Eaton fires are the most destructive fires in the history of Los Angeles County, together destroying more than 10,000 homes since January 14. Together, their destruction has exceeded California only once, in 2018.
This fire is burning in California's densely populated Los Angeles County, unlike most of the wildfires in unpopulated areas.
According to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, a Palisades firewhich swept through the affluent Pacific Palisades neighborhood between the Santa Monica Mountains and the Pacific Ocean, destroying at least 5,300 homes and displacing more than 100,000 people.
About 40km (25 miles) to the east, the Eaton fire also affected large parts of the Altadena area, destroying more than 5,000 homes.
AccuWeather says the fire could cost between $135bn and $150bn in damage and economic losses.
The worst wildfire in California
In 2018, 85 people died in California very deadly it is a very destructive fire. The Camp Fire, which burned near the town of Paradise in Butte County, was caused by faulty power lines. The blaze, which burned 62,000 hectares (153,000 acres), destroyed nearly the entire town and burned more than 18,000 homes.

The second deadliest fire in California history is the Griffith Park fire, which occurred on October 3, 1933, in Los Angeles. The fire has left 29 people dead, most of them workers clearing brush in the park when it started.
According to the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office, 16 of the 24 people who died in the current fire occurred in the Eaton fire in the mountains east of Los Angeles, while the remaining eight were caused by the Palisades fire west of the city.
