Registration for the closed network test Elden Ring Nighttrain open, publisher Bandai Namco announced Today. Registration period for the cooperative Elden Ring The spin-off officially launched on January 10th at 9am ET and will run until 9am ET on January 20th. You can add your name to the list now on the Bandai Namco website.
The closed network test will be split into five different sessions on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S, will take place from February 14 to 15. You will be able to log in on each of these days from 6:00 am ET to 9:00 am ET or from 10:00 pm ET to 1:00 am ET the next day to experience the game.
Selected players will be able to play “a portion of the game before it fully launches,” according to Bandai Namco's registration page, with the goal of getting an idea of how the company's servers and online systems will handle the masses of fans playing simultaneously. As for what this “part” will actually contain, Bandai Namco says players will be able to “experience the game's co-op experience” by teaming up with two other players to complete a three-day loop filled with “increasingly challenging enemies and bosses.”
Night rain seems to use many mechanics, armor, weapons and abilities Elden Ringbut throws them out in the revamped Limveld setting, whose design changes every time you play. According to Bandai Namco, you start each game loop in the familiar Round Table mode, where you can choose from eight characters with unique abilities and “Ultimate Abilities.” The Limveld map you play on will shrink each night and introduce a new boss, defeating which will allow you to move on to the next day. The process continues until the final, third night, when you fight the “Lord of the Night.” And if you fail at any point in the process and have to start a new run (as many will likely do), you'll receive a relic that will allow you to “customize and improve” your character.
Elden Ring Nighttrain was unexpectedly announced V Game Awards in 2024and this came as quite a big surprise not only because Shadow of Airdtree was released the same year, but because the structure of the game is noticeably different from anything that developer FromSoftware has created before. Anyone lucky enough to take part in the network test will now be able to see just how different things really are.
