Arsenal progressed to the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup when the Gunners had to come from behind to beat Crystal Palace 3-2 at the Emirates Stadium.
Jakub Kivior made a big mistake with the opening goal contest, allowing Jean-Philippe Matete to give the Eagles the lead with just four minutes on the clock.
For a while it looked like the North London club would be out of the competition, but Gabriel Jesus stepped up and sent Arsenal through to the next round. The Brazilian would go on to complete a hat-trick which came at a time when the forward was in poor form and links from Arsenal.
On top of that, the 27-year-old's numbers against Crystal Palace were impressive. Jesus completed 20 of 223 passes, all five on target, had 48 touches and won one foul for his team.
Arsenal are ready to use Gabriel Jesus in a huge swap deal
The club's fans will be hoping that performance will help the Brazilian to make it to the Emirates this season, and Mikel Arteta was full of praise for the former Manchester City star after the full-time whistle.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has heaped praise on Gabriel Jesus
Knowing how much Jesus has struggled for Arsenal this season, particularly in front of goal, Arteta was keen to sing his praises in his post-match interview.
“It's about confidence. When you don't score a goal for almost a year, it's hard,” said the Spanish star Sky Sports to the question about the 27-year-old. “Gabby is someone who wants to do more. He wants to work hard and help the team in every way.
“He received an award today. Movement, the quality of his touches, the way of completing actions; it's a big, big deal for him. We have Gabby back at his best and at this level he can really give us good results.”
