Arsenal played Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night and the Gunners fell behind in the encounter thanks to a big mistake from Jakub Kivior

It has been an up-and-down affair for the North London side this season and ahead of the EFL Cup tie, Arsenal fans would have seen the competition as a good chance to win a trophy that has been hard to come by of late given Man City's dominance of the English game.

These hopes were dashed very quickly Crystal Palace led the competition just four minutes later through Jean-Philippe Mateta.

Arsenal are ready to sign the Chelsea star in January

The striker fired home for Arsenal after getting on the end of a long ball from Dean Henderson which Kivior failed to deal with. The Arsenal defender made a mess of the situation as he tried to clear the ball, completely missing the ball to finish last.

It was a bad moment for the Polish star, but mistakes like these are to be expected if you don't play regularly.

Will Jakub Kiwior leave Arsenal in January?

Quivier has not been part of Mikel Arteta's plans at Arsenal this season, although the latest report suggested the Spaniard is hoping keep the 24-year-old at the Emirates beyond January.

The Polish star has made 13 appearances for the North London outfit during the first half of the current campaign, but has spent most of that term on the bench. This has led to several clubs interested in the defender and it remains to be seen if he will make a move in January.

AC Milan is one of the clubs considering a deal for KiwiorNapoli, Bologna, Juventus, Villarreal and Marseille are also interested in the Arsenal star.

A move for the defender could be good for his career, but it remains to be seen whether Arteta will let him go as the 24-year-old's versatility could come in handy as the campaign progresses.
