Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has announced their 16-man T20I squad for New Zealand, which includes three T20 matches starting on December 28. The squad will be led by Charith Asalankawho takes the lead as captain, with the aim of adding to the team's recent achievements.
Group Summary
The squad that has been selected consists of experienced players and emerging talent, which reflects Sri Lanka's strategy to strengthen their T20 form. It hasn't been on the list yet Dunith Wellagea reliable player who has been dropped from the team considering the seam-bowler's visiting pitches in New Zealand. His absence gives other players a chance to step up and help the team win.
Chamindu Wickramasinghewho made his home debut against the West Indies, still maintains his p;ace as the only fastest pacer in the group.

Sri Lanka's T20I match against New Zealand has three matches scheduled:
- 1 and T20I: December 28, 2024 (Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui)
- 2 and T20I: December 30, 2024 (Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui)
- 3 and T20IsJanuary 2, 2025 (Saxton Oval, Nelson)
Following the T20I series, Sri Lanka will play three more ODIs against New Zealand on January 5, 8, and 11.
