Chelsea's sheer strength in depth allows them to fight on three fronts in a very effective manner, with Marisca's B side getting the job done against Shamrock and some players now well rested in preparation for the imminent test against Everton on Sunday.

In this type of match, it is sometimes easy to fall, but first of all, they know that they are not allowed to fall, and secondly, we need to show that. We are serious and professional, and once again… Other I think they show that.
“And then, yeah, it was a good opportunity for the young players, some of them, so we're very happy.
“I think we are now in the next round, we have to focus on the next round, and then if we can win, we will go to the next round, but thinking about playing the final or winning this competition when you have still five or six games left, I don't think That this is the right thing.”

One of the players who was on the bench against Shamrock but did not play, perhaps in an attempt to get comfortable with Everton, is £100,000 per week wing Jadon Sancho.
The Englishman has generally impressed since moving to Chelsea on loan from Manchester United in the summer, so much so that the club are taking early steps to secure his future at the club.
According to trusted journalist Simon Phillips, via his Substack, Chelsea have already 'temporarily' and 'verbally' agreed terms with Sancho During his direct move to London next summer, his temporary contract is set to become permanent for around £23m if the team finish higher than 15th in the table.
Cobham's sources view the move as a 'huge deal' behind the scenes, and Maresca has really enjoyed working with the former Borussia Dortmund star who has been on 'cloud nine' since joining.
With Chelsea's first permanent signing next summer a certainty, attention turns to January, and it looks set to be an interesting window.
