Kane scored twice in the first two minutes as he recovered from injury in the Bundesliga.

Harry Kane returned from nearly three weeks out with injury as Bayern Munich hosted RB Leipzig on Friday, but Jamal Musiala stole the show minutes later with a goal.

England captain Kane opened the scoring for Musiala's fourth goal in four games for the German national team, chipping in a pass to Michael Olissi.

Leipzig trailed less than 60 seconds later when Lois Openda jumped into space and crossed to Benjamin Sesko in the slot.

The equalizer was the first time in the history of German top-flight football that both teams had scored in the first two minutes of a match.

Kane is injured again

Bundesliga top scorer Kane, who has missed three league games and one in the Champions League with a hamstring problem, was in high spirits in Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Bayern Munich – their first league defeat since Malley appointed Vincent Kompany as manager.

It didn't take Kane for Bayern Munich to give Leipzig an early lead as former Red Bulls midfielder Konrad Laimer equalized after 25 minutes.

Laimer's first league goal was his second in three games in a 5-1 win over Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on 10 December.

As desperate as they are to once again sign their most prolific player, Bayern Munich have added a third courtesy of Joshua Kimmich.

The Germany midfielder scored from 25 yards in the 36th minute, ending a year-long wait for a league goal in spectacular fashion.

Bayern vs Leipzig

Kane has scored 19 goals in 17 Bundesliga and Champions League games in 2024/25, but the 31-year-old showed his tenacity three minutes later with a routine effort from goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi.

Bayern Munich started four points clear of second-placed Leverkusen after 14 games.

Marco Rose's Leipzig have won their last two league games and know victory will take them three points behind Bayern Munich in second place.
