Van Nistelrooy said: 'We know where we are.

Leicester boss Ruud van Nistelrooy says his side are not looking at Sunday's game against Wolves as a must-win game in the Premier League relegation battle.

The Foxes went into the weekend in 17th place, one place above the relegation zone, five points clear of 19th-placed Wolves.

“Wolves know where we are in the table,” Van Nistelrooy said. I know that they are in the situation (near the bottom). It is important for us to continue to improve.

“The competition is more than where we are in the table. It's the next step in how we want to play and react to success and failure.”

Leicester have won just one of their last six games against the bottom three and Wolves replaced Gary O'Neill with Vita Pereira this week.

Van Nistelrooy said: “That's what he (Vitor Pereira) did in Saudi. You can research how he has played in the teams he has managed in the past.

“Wolves' performance over the last month has been good, but there could be changes.

“Will it be a big change or a small one? Those are all questions we have to face. We have to be prepared for surprises.”

Leicester club news

The big issue for Van Nistelrooy concerns the well-being of goalkeeper Mads Hermansen. Hermannsson was forced off at half-time against Newcastle last week and was twice tackled by Danny Ward before touching the ball.

“That's the question,” Van Nistelrooy said. Mads is also still doing what he can for the game.

“He has the potential to play.” This is good news. At half-time, he was worried about leaving the field. It's an immediate assessment and treatment and rehabilitation that takes place within a week. We're looking forward to seeing how he plays today and tomorrow on Sunday.”

About Wilfred Ndidi and Harry Winks“Harry has been fully involved in squad training this week so it is positive news for the squad that he has been re-selected. Wilfred is in his rehabilitation and is not on the pitch, so it is not appropriate to select him.”
