La Liga table: Atletico; real Madrid, Barcelona
Madrid's third home win since a 4-0 defeat by Barcelona on October 26 moved them two points clear of Hans Felipe's side.
They moved a point behind leaders Atletico Madrid, who beat Barca 2-1 on Saturday, thanks to Alexandre Salah's 96th-minute winner.
Their opponents suffered a third straight away defeat in the league, but lost 3-1 at Atletico on 8 December with 29 minutes remaining.
Madrid will play away to second-bottom Valencia on January 3 (8pm GMT), while Atleti will play Osasuna at home on January 12 (3.15pm).
Barca have lost 4 and drawn 2 of their last 7 La Liga matches. Next January (18th) at 8:00 pm, they will play against Getafe team.
