Nathan McSweeney opens up after being dropped from Australia squad for the final two Tests against India



Nathan McSweeney had an interesting domestic season before it Border-Gavaskar Trophy against India. The young man was given an opportunity to show his talent at the international level. However he failed to perform well in the Test match against India. The Australian selectors had had enough of the young opener and his name was withdrawn from the Australian squad before the final two matches. McSweeney has now taken action after being removed from the team.

Nathan McSweeney's dream of playing a Boxing day Test was dashed

Asked how he felt after being left out of Australia's squad for the Boxing Day Test in Melbourne, the 25-year-old said: Channel 7, When I was disappointed, I saw that the dream came true and it didn't happen the way I wanted.”

The frustration of the missed opportunity was clear in his words, “If you don't take advantage and you don't do well, your position will not be secure. I missed a few times and unfortunately I couldn't take advantage of my chance, but I will try my best to read it again next time.”

The young Australian opener was optimistic about the future and revealed that he will work hard in the nets.

McSweeney's impressive record for the 2023-24 season

McSweeney is the ambassador of Brisbane heat in Big Bash League (BBL) and has taken his home side to BBL glory in the 2023-24 season. Following his success with Brisbane, he was named the leader of the South Australia before the first season. His recent record in Australian first-class cricket speaks volumes about his potential as a future prospect for his country.

McSweeney scored with an impressive average of 40.97 in the season and scored three hundreds in South Australia. Another young man Konstas himself he has been given the opportunity to have a dream debut against India. Konstas was among the PM XI the team played a defensive game against India and scored a brilliant 107 runs off 97 balls which made him the player of the match.
