Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka could be sidelined until early February with the injury he picked up during the club's 5-1 win over Crystal Palace at the weekend, reports have revealed.
Saka, who has ten assists in the Premier League already this season, was withdrawn just 24 minutes into the contest, to the dismay of Gunners fans and staff.
The manager said Mikel Arteta after the final whistle that he was “very concerned” about the possible prognosis, with Saka later seen leaving Selhurst Park on crutches.
The Times now explains that Saka could miss four to six weeks. Worryingly, it's another hamstring problem this season after previous games in October.
With a packed fixture list across three competitions and no winter break this season, Arsenal are set to play 11 times over the next six weeks, the number of games Saka could miss if he is ruled unavailable for a longer assessment.
That run begins with a Premier League game against Ipswich Town on December 27 and includes the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Liverpool, an FA Cup third-round tie against Manchester United, the north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur, two League of Champions. match and a Premier League clash with Manchester City.
A slightly shorter absence could see Saka return to action in the last week of January and be available for the clash with City on February 2.
When Arsenal returned from the November international break in better form, Arteta pointed out that he was mainly due to the increased availability of players after an injury crisis. But from now sidelined until a few weeks in 2025 is a significant blow.
