Anislo has warned his players not to be complacent after Liverpool took the lead at the top of the Premier League with a 6-3 win over Tottenham Hotspur.
Liverpool have had their best attack of the season away from north London, Luis Diaz; Alexis McAllister; Dominik Szoboszlai and Mohamed Salah were targeted.
But after building a 5-1 lead, the intensity dropped and Spurs' hopes of a comeback fell short, before Diaz's second victory led to a 5-3 Spurs comeback.
Chelsea's 0-0 draw with Everton saw them level at the top of the table, but Slot said his side will have to step up their game if they are to maintain their lead.
“From 60 to 65 minutes; “I really liked what I saw,” the Netherlands coach said.
“But no matter how many talented players there are, Especially against Tottenham, when you think they don't need to run again in this league, you see they can create and score two goals straight away. I was happy when I went in sixth.
“You can be the guy when it's 5-1 up. You think, 'OK'. But Tottenham always keep going and creating.
“You've got to be on top of your game every second of the game and if you're not 100% it's going to hurt you.”
Hole: 'It's hard to stay on top'
Liverpool will be top of the table at Christmas thanks to their poor form against a weak Spurs side. “It means something,” Slot said.
“You know as well as I do how hard it is to stay at the top. You have to be on top of your game every minute. It is not easy to appear every three or four days.
“I didn't expect Chelsea to lose points today. It can happen in any game and that's what makes the league so special.”
Slot: 'Top player Salah never works'
Salah became Liverpool's fourth-highest goalscorer in history, with Alaves praising the Epstein striker's decision.
“He is a good footballer as well. He's a very likable person,” Slot said. “He's always there to help his teammates.
“He understands the need to reach this level every three days. That impressed me. I understand how much he has to work for the quality he shows as a top player.”
