The Indian women's cricket team got off to a strong start to their three-match ODI series against West Indies Women, registering a dominant 211-run win over the tourists in the first game on Sunday, December 22 thanks to their solid effort at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara .

Renuka Singh bowled a longer delivery towards the stumps, prompting Aaliyah Alleyne to take an ambitious swing and strike for a big shot. However, Harmanpreet Kaur, positioned in the middle, rushed into action and left everyone in awe of her.

As Aaliyah Alleyne, looking to edge the mid-off boundary, hit the ball cleanly with power, the India Women captain made a stunning one-handed catch, leaping high to reach the ball and pulling off a stunning one- hand to dismiss the West Indies star.

The ball travels quickly and Alleyne's shot looked headed for a boundary, but Harmanpreet Kaur's athletic leap and perfectly timed touch allowed her to pluck the ball out of the air.

However, the way the India Women's skipper controlled the ball in the air, preventing it from slipping and turning a potential boundary into a spectacular moment was an impressive part of her efforts.

Her quick reflexes and athleticism were on full display, leaving fans and players in awe as Aaliyah Alleyne was sent back to the dugout for just 13 runs off 23 balls in the first ODI at Vadodara.

This match saw Harmanpreet return to action after missing the last two T20Is against the West Indies due to a knee problem. She bounced back with impact, scoring a quickfire 34 off just 23 balls before being run out and helping India post a competitive total of 314/9 on the board in the first ODI against West Indies Women at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.

Earlier, India's innings started with a bang thanks to an impressive 110-run opening partnership between Smriti Mandhana and debutant Prakiti Rawal. Indian opener Smriti Mandhana missed her century by just nine runs but was the top scorer for the hosts in the opening match of the three-match ODI series against the West Indies.

She played an explosive innings of 91 runs off 102 balls with the help of 13 boundaries before falling to Zaida James. On the other hand, Prakiti Rawal made 40 runs off 69 balls.

Defending the target, India Women were strong in the game from the start as renuka Singh helped the hosts restrict West Indies to just 123 runs to win the first ODI by 211 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the series Three match ODIs. Priya Mishra also picked up two wickets in the match.
