Manchester United officials will not be involved in Ruben Amorim's decision to drop Marcus Rashford from his matchday squads, a report has revealed.
Rashford was initially ruled out for the Manchester derby, after which he confessed his desire for a “new challengeHe has since been left out of the squad for two more matches, with Amorim openly admitting his absence is a technical decision rather than a disciplinary matter.
According to Daily Mailresponsible in united are happy to allow Amorim to make such decisions in the team and will not put the coach under any pressure until the game continues.
Co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, director Sir Dave Brailsford, chief executive Omar Berrada and technical director Jason Wilcox will neither encourage Amorim to end Rashford's exile nor push for him to return to the squad.
While it is admitted that Rashford's presence on the bench is far from ideal – not least because of his wages in excess of £300,000-a-week – United's hierarchy will trust Amorim to manage all selection matters.
Amorization, on the other hand, has never closed the door on Rashford. Indeed, he has emphasized his desire to keep the striker at Old Trafford and has repeatedly insisted that the players are given a new roster after each game.
Alejandro Garnacho, who was also dropped for the Manchester derby, has since been used from the bench in United's last two games, showing there is a way back for players accused of letting their standards drop behind the scenes.
