Tyson Fury claimed he was “robbed” after all three judges scored Oleksandr Usyk's rematch 116-112 in favor of the Ukrainian – but what do the stats say?
Speaking after the fight, Fury claimed: “I thought I won by at least three rounds. I fought the fight, on my feet all night…Frank (Warren) had me three or four rounds up, a lot of people had me at least two .
“I think I won both fights. I think Usyk got a Christmas present, but it's not Oleksandr's fault.”
Sky Sports pundit Johnny Nelson dismissed the 'robbery' claims: “I had a little closer. Usyk initiated almost everything in the fight and Tyson had to react.”
According to Compubox stat, Fury landed 509 punches in 12 rounds – 86 more than Usyk. However, Usyk landed 179 of his 423 punches – 35 more than Fury.

So while the 'Gypsy King' landed more punches than Usyk, the Ukrainian arguably outclassed and outclassed Fury.
Fury's accuracy has dropped slightly since their first fight in May from 31.7 percent to 28.3 percent – his lowest since facing Otto Valin in 2019.

How the fight played out
Both boxers landed just six punches in a close first round, but Usyk continued to land more punches in each round – except the fourth.

Unlike in the first fight, Fury landed more as the rounds went on. however, just like In the first fight, Usyk's output gradually increased – especially during the last four rounds.
Fury has only landed fewer punches than his opponent in the two fights since the record began – both against the Ukrainian. The Gypsy King also faced a career-high 179 accurate shots over 12 rounds in Riyadh.
In addition, Usyk was ahead in cumulative strikes throughout the fight – with a gap that grew faster by the sixth round.

In 12 rounds, Usyk recorded 106 of these accurate strikes – six more than Fury. Per round, Usyk landed more in the first three rounds, before Fury bested his rival in the fourth and fifth.

However, Usyk landed more in four of the remaining seven rounds, with Fury outmaneuvering Usyk in the ninth and 10th before both fighters landed 11 in the final round.

Speaking in the ring immediately after the fight, promoter Warren added: “How come Tyson only got four rounds in this fight? That's impossible.
“He is very disappointed, as am I. Everyone at the front (in the ring) thought everything was the same way.
“That's crazy. Did you only give him four rounds out of eight? I don't understand.”

“Okay, no problem,” said the unified WBC, WBA and WBO heavyweight champion. “I won, that's enough. Fury is a great opponent, big and tough. He's a good man. Tyson talks a lot. It's just (for) show. Twenty-four rounds, listen, that's already history.”
Meanwhile, Fury refused to confirm whether he intended to box again or hang up the gloves after suffering the second defeat of his professional career.
“I want to go home and have a good Christmas,” Fury said. “I worked hard for this fight. Thanks to everyone who came and supported. Maybe you'll see me fight again, maybe not.”
