Australian batsman Travis Head has been the most successful batsman in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The middle-order batsman has been in brilliant form throughout the series so far and continues to give sleepless nights to the Indian bowlers.
While the other Australian batsmen struggled against the spearhead of India's bowling, Jasprit Bumrah, Head successfully tackled this threat with his aggression and skill. Former Australian batsman Greg Chappell has revealed the success mantra that has brought Travis Head success so far.
Chappell feels Head's ability to counter Bumrah and treat him like any other bowler has given him tremendous success so far. Chappell hailed Head's proactive mindset and fearless approach, making him the best batsman of the series in the first three Tests.

Greg Chappell hails Travis Head's 'fearless approach' against Jasprit Bumrah
Writing for his Sydney Morning Herald column, Greg Chappell revealed why Travis Head was successful against Jasprit Bumrah when other batsmen struggled. Chappell claimed that Head treated Bumrah like any other bowler and played him with intent, which also disrupted Bumrah's pace.
“(Travis) Head's performances against Jasprit Bumrah in this series exemplify his fearless approach. While most batsmen struggle to survive Bumrah's unorthodox action, sharp pace and relentless accuracy, Head treated him like any other bowler,” wrote Chappell.
“Playing with intent and looking to score Bumrah, Head not only nullified his threat but disrupted his pace. His ability to dispatch short deliveries with authority and drive the fuller ones with precision was outstanding, underlining the progress he has made.” he added.

Will Travis Head become Australia's next captain? Greg Chappell answers
Praising Travis Head, Greg Chappell even asked him to be the next Australian captain after Pat Cummins. He called Head the most improved batter across all formats in the last three years and even claimed his aggressive style reflects the Australian style.
“I think Travis (Head) has been the most improved batsman in world cricket over the last three years and by becoming that, he has asserted his favoritism to be the next Australian captain. In his current form, Travis exemplifies the Australian way of batting,” remarked the former India head coach.
Travis Head has played a lot of big shots over the past two years. He scored a hundred in the 2023 World Test Championship (WTC) final against India to lead Australia to a memorable title win. Head scored 163 off 174 balls in the final and also won the Man of the Match award.
The left-hander did not stop there and slammed a brilliant hundred in the final of the ODI World Cup 2023, also against India. He scored 137 off 120 balls in the summit clash and hit 15 fours and 4 sixes to lead Australia to a title win over home favourites.
