India U19 squad for ICC Women's Under-19 T20 World Cup 2025 announced

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the India U19 Women's National Cricket Team for the upcoming ICC Women's Under-19 T20 World Cup 2025. Niki Prasad will captain the team in the tournament, which will be held in Malaysia from January 18 2025 to 02 February 2025.

Sanika Chalke will be the vice-captain of the team as the Indian team has also named two wickets in the team Kamalini G and Bhavika Ahire. Apart from the main squad, BCCI has also named three reserve players in Nandhana S, Ira J and Anadi T.

The tournament will be a great opportunity for all young Indian women to showcase their talent and enter the main stage. The girls in blue are the defending champions and would be hoping to win another trot title and continue their good form.

The defending champions are placed in Group A along with Malaysia U19, West Indies U19 and Sri Lanka U19. In total, there are up to 4 groups, each group consisting of 4 teams. The girls in blue will play all their group stage matches at the Bayuemas Oval in Kuala Lumpur.

India U19 Schedule for the tournament

The defending champions will begin their ICC Women's Under-19 T20 World Cup 2025 campaign against West Indies on January 19, 2025. After that, they will be with Malaysia, followed by Sri Lanka on January 21 and 23 respectively.

The top three teams from each group will qualify for the Super Six stage. At this stage, the teams will be divided into two groups. Group 1 will feature the top three teams each from Group A and Group D, while Group 2 will have the top three teams each from Group B and Group C.

The final of the 2025 ICC Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup will be played on February 2

In the Super Six stage, all teams will continue their wins, points and net rating (NRR), which is secured against their Super Six qualifying teams. Each team is scheduled to play two games in the Super Six stage against opponents from their respective groups who finished in different positions.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, which will take place on 31 January 2025. The final of the tournament will take place on 02 February 2025.
