Ange Postecoglou has given his strongest hint yet that Tottenham Hotspur will look to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window.
In recent weeks, Spurs have had Mikey van Deven; The likes of Christian Romero and Richardson have struggled with injuries.
Postecoglou's all-out attacking strategy failed and Spurs dropped to 11th place in the Premier League following Sunday's 6-3 home defeat by Liverpool.
Asked if he was keen to do business when the window reopened next week, the Australian replied: “Like I said before. We have planned. There are many places where we are at this time. It's fair to say that we're still a little short in two areas and need to be reinforced.
“But it's more difficult than what kind of players you can bring in in January. Ideal for us — we want to recruit people who make you stronger for any club.
“Of course we are still in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup.” Europe We still have FA Cups. It is present in all competitions. I don't think our schedule is going to ease up at any level. So I guess it makes sense. We'll have to wait and see where and what number and what number they'll try to fill in.”

Bentancur laughed
Spurs travel to Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day due to midfielder Rodrigo Bantanka's suspension.
The Uruguay international has missed the last seven domestic games for comments he made about teammate Son Heung-min but will feature at Manchester City.
Left back Destiny Udogie is also available due to injury.
Postecoglou added: “As far as I know from the game, there is no problem. Luck is on the bench, but it's not 100% true and it should be. Bentancur is available after his suspension. That's the way it is at the moment.”
Forest returns for Johnson
Brennan Johnson returns to his former club on Thursday after losing his place in the squad due to the form of Dejan Kululevsky, but Postecoglou believes the Wales international will soon get his chance.
“Brennan just needs to keep doing what he's doing,” he said. “I had Deki and he did really well and scored goals. It's about the balance of the team. It's about managing that load. Some players have already been burdened there. Brennan will get his minutes.”
