India captain Rohit Sharma was frustrated at a fan's request during the training session at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) ahead of the Boxing Day Test against Australia. The Indian players finally had their first practice session on the fresh wickets in the stadium's outdoor nets.
After practice, Rohit turned to the spectators who surrounded the nets to watch their favorite stars train. As Rohit started walking towards the dressing room after meeting the spectators, a young woman asked the Indian captain to call Shubman Gill.
Rohit Sharma waved his hand and signaled that Gill had already left after completing his practice session. But the fan was adamant and kept asking Rohit to call Gill. This left Rohit frustrated, prompting him to say out loud, “Kaha se bulau (How should I take it)”.

While talking to RevSportz, the girl later clarified that she is a big fan of Shubman Gill. The fan admitted he was late, but that was only due to his medical condition as he was putting a bandage on his broken leg. He further wished Shubman Gill all the best for the next match and wishes him to be fit again.
“I have a broken leg. I put on a bandage and came. I saw him briefly yesterday, but I couldn't say anything because I started crying. I came a little late today because of my foot so I couldn't meet Shubman (Gill). But I hope he will come back,” said fan Shubman Gill.
Shubman Gill's batting form
It has been tough for Shubman Gill to get this far in this series. The 25-year-old has scored 60 runs in two Tests so far, at an average of only 20. Being the batsman no. 3 for his team, India want more runs from Gill in the lead.
He is considered a future star in Indian cricket but he needs to show his worth with the bat. Although Gill has been impressive in home Tests, he has struggled in overseas Test matches since his 91 at the Gabba during the 2020-21 Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
A lack of footwork and a tendency to play in an aggressive manner often caused problems for Gill. He has so far played 31 Tests and scored 1860 runs at an average of 35.76. The right-hander has hit 5 hundreds and 7 fifties in his career so far.
Rohit Sharma's struggles continue
Not only Shubman Gill but also Rohit Sharma is struggling to root for form. Rohit has so far scored 19 runs in two Tests at an average of 6.33. He missed the first test and came into the squad from the second test match.
The Indian captain changed his batting position to no. 6 after KL Rahul's first-order hit. But Rohit's struggle for runs continued. India need runs from two of their best batsmen to put Australia under pressure.
