The decision regarding the non-invasive medical procedure to be taken later – Dr. Vivek Trivedi
Vinod Kambli is responding well to treatment for a urinary tract infection. Dr. Vivek Trivedi, who heads the medical team, said an MRI was originally planned for Kambli, but it was postponed because of the fever he developed. The MRI is necessary after medical examinations have revealed brain clots.
“Doctors were planning to do an MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) on the former India batter, but since he has developed fever, a decision on the non-invasive medical procedure will be taken later,” he was quoted as saying by PTI .
“The MRI procedure was required after a series of medical examinations carried out earlier revealed clots in the brain,” said Trivedi.
Vinod Kambli's condition will be closely monitored over the next 24 hours
Vinod is expected to be moved out of the ICU in a day or two and discharged in four days. Kambli's condition was critical four days ago due to a severe urinary infection. Dr. Trivedi noted that Kambli's condition was stabilized, although his blood pressure fluctuated when he was admitted.
“His condition will be closely monitored in the next 24 hours and a decision will be taken regarding his transfer from the ICU,” he added.
