The 2024/25 season has yet to reach the halfway mark, but there will be a number of clubs across Europe already fantasizing about a big winter spend.
There was a flurry of activity around the world during the summer tRANSFER window, with billions spent on Europe's top five leagues alone. Premier League clubs spent £2.1billion all by themselves, but it is highly unlikely that there will be that much money at the start of the new year.
January transfer windows tend to be quieter, especially for Europe's top teams, but it offers struggling teams the ability to bolster their squads or cover injuries. There will be a host of teams already desperate for the opening of the winter market.
Here are all the details regarding the January 2025 transfer window.
There is no specific date on which the January transfer window opens across the globe. Different leagues open and close their shutters at different times.
The Premier League's winter window opens on Wednesday January 1. The market will also open on New Year's Day in Ligue 1 and Bundesliga, as well as the Saudi Arabian Pro League.
However, in La Liga and Serie A, clubs will have to wait until Thursday 2 January to get the job done.
The January transfer window is open for about a month and closes in early February in most of Europe.
The Premier League's winter window closes on Monday 3 February at 23:00 GMT, with the top divisions of Italy, France, Germany and Spain closing their windows on the same date – although the times will vary.
The Saudi Arabian Pro League window closes earlier than Europe's major leagues – to the relief of many European clubs – and will close on Thursday 30 January.

It promises to be an intriguing winter window for him Liverpool supporters, who fear for the future with the contracts of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold expiring next summer. All three will be free to agree contracts with clubs outside England this January if they choose to leave Anfield at the end of the current season.
Elsewhere in Premier Leaguethere is likely to be considerable movement.
