Bosch's Test comes on the back of an impressive record of international cricket. Having made his debut in the ODI format against Pakistan earlier in the same tour, Bosch's promotion to the Test team reflects his rapid rise. The 30-year-old batsman was included in the Proteas squad for the tour of Pakistan due to his impressive performance in domestic cricket.
Bosch's home history confirms its credentials as a true all-rounder. In 34 First-Class matches, he has taken 72 wickets and scored 1,295 runs, including 10 half-centuries. His List A record is also commendable, with 38 wickets and 547 runs in 32 matches, notching eighties.
