Cristiano Ronaldo says Amorim is not a problem at Manchester United.

Cristiano Ronaldo has hinted that the problem at Manchester United is not the coach, but a hint of wider problems with the Glazers.

United are 14th in the Premier League after losing 2-0 to Wolves last night.

Ruben Amorim was brought in a month ago to replace Erik ten Hag, but the Portuguese have taken seven points from their first seven league games and the results have not improved.

Asked about conditions at Old Trafford, Ronaldo told the Globe Soccer Awards: “The Premier League is the most difficult league in the world.

“All the teams are good; Every team fights, Every team runs, Every team is strong. Football is different now. No more easy games.

“I have said about a year and a half ago; I'll keep saying it: The problem isn't the coaches. It’s like… I always gave the example… it’s like an aquarium.

“If there are fish in there, he's sick, and if you take him out and fix the problem and put him back in the aquarium, you're sick again.

“Manchester United's problem is the same. The problem isn't always the coach. It's much more than that.”

I will adjust things – Ronaldo

Asked if he felt it was the current situation, he said, “100 percent. If I were the owner of the club, I would be clear and fix the bad things there.”

While he didn't say he would one day own Manchester United, Ronaldo has insisted he will one day own a major club, following in the footsteps of former Old Trafford hero David Beckham.

Asked if he had spoken to the Glazers, he said: “I'm very young and still have a lot of dreams, but take my word for it, I'm definitely going to be the owner of a big club.”
