Nathan Lyon taunts KL Rahul during MCG Test

The 4th Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) has seen plenty of on-field drama. On Day 2, Australian spinner Nathan Lyon added to the tension with a sly comment on India's KL Rahul.

Nathan Lyon mocks KL Rahul

Like KL Rahul came out to bat, a quick strike from Australian off-spinner Nathan Lyon kept things in the lead. The veteran bowler asked, “What did you do wrong to hit one?”

This came after Rahul was dropped from the order afterwards Rohit Sharma turned to open with Yashasvi Jaiswal. Despite the disappointment, Rahul kept his cool and focused on his game, showing maturity in the face of jokes.

Rahul chose to ignore Lyon's comment and focused on his batting. But his time at the crease was short-lived. Just before tea, Australian captain Pat Cummins bowled a beauty that got away from Rahul, beat his lip and hit the stumps. Rahul retired after contributing to India's total and gave credit to Cummins' delivery.

India's efforts continue

This follows the verbal altercation between Virat Kohli and Sam Konstas on Day 1. As Kohli moved past Konstas, their shoulders rubbed and there was a verbal exchange. The MCG crowd cheered Kohli and he asked them to shout louder and the atmosphere became more intense.

Moving forward, India's batting continued to struggle as Rohit Sharma's poor form was once again evident. In the 6th over he tried to pull a short ball from Cummins but missed it and was caught by Scott Boland at mid-off. This was the 7th time that Cummins has taken the wicket of Sharma in Test cricket.

In the 26th over, India were struggling badly behind Australia's 474. At the time of writing, INDIA are 82/2 in 26 overs with Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal at the crease.
