Stoke sacked manager Narcis Pelach after just 19 games in charge.
The former Norwich boss was appointed in September, aged 36, but has won just three of his 18 games in the Championship.
A 2-0 home defeat to Leeds left them 19th in the table, three points clear of the relegation zone.
Stoke City have parted ways with head coach Narcís Pèlach.

Athletic Director Jon Walters said: “Narcis is a talented coach with huge potential who will no doubt work tirelessly and continue to achieve success in the future.
“However, with the results and performances in recent weeks, we have to accept with a hint that he has proven that he is not the right fit for this club at this time.
“I take full responsibility for that and I am absolutely determined that we will now make the right choice moving forward.
“Every decision we make is driven by our love for Stoke City and our absolute determination to bring success to the club. “.
The Potters, who have lost five of their last six league games and drawn another, are yet to announce their coaching line-up for Sunday's game against Sunderland.
