It's Coral Welsh Grand National Day in Chepstow, with every race on the card live on Sky Sports Racing…
2.50 Chepstow – Monbeg Genius and Galia Des Liteaux headline Welsh National
All eyes will be on Chepstow for the Welsh Grand National and many will be hoping it goes the way of the current favorite Monbeg Genius who was last seen finishing third at Haydock behind re-opposition Collonges Fountain. He will take off much better to run and could run a cracker without a change.
Classy mare Gallia Des Liteaux represents Skeltons and is now 4lb under her eighth Grand National and could lead the trainer-jockey duo with her first success in this race.
Irish runner Where It All Began and Sam Thomas' Jubilee Express complete the shortlist in what looks to be a competitive field.
1.40 Chepstow – French racer Nietzsche Has looks the one to beat
Marcel Rolland Nietzsche Has has his last ride before becoming a National Hunt stallion. He was an exciting prospect earlier in the year after completing a treble that included wins over Willy De Houelle and Sony Bill who have since gone to champion trainer Willie Mullins, his second in the Grade 1 Prix Cambaceres setting the standard here.
Opec is looking for a four-time winner after beating stablemate Ambiente Amigo at Newbury and will ensure this one goes at a strong gallop. Hott Fuss could hit the frame.
1.05 Chepstow v Exeter winner Lowry's Bar looking to go on
Micheal Nolan gets a good tune out of progressive Lowry's Bar who was impressive on debut when he finished second behind Jaguar at Bangor-on-Dee. It was no surprise to see him build on that performance when he won at Exeter last time and today he is looking to take another step forward for Phillip Hobbs and Johnson White.
Tom Lacey's Night flight has been in excellent form of late and was denied a hat-trick at Ascot, chasing home December's subsequent Gold Cup winner, Gemirande. Nocte Volatus was unchanged today and could take any beating.
Venetia Williams has taken part in this race four times in the last 10 years and saddled up George Saint which must be respected.
The best of the rest
At 12.30 in South Wales, King William Rufus carries a £7 penalty for his impressive win at Ascot earlier this month, with Freddie Gordon retaining the ride for sire Chris. Later at 2.10, Woodieflash and Major Fortune the conflict in the hour looks delicious. The luckiest last at 3.25 sees the three winners who came out on the post for the last time, ie. King of Tara, David's well and Dr. TJ Eckleburg.
in Wolverhampton, Havana Sky is hunting for five-legged deer at 4:00 a.m., with Southbank perhaps most likely to deny Hector Crouch that feat. Too Darn Hot's half-brother Majorca debuts for John and Thady Gosden at 5.30, along with another well-bred horse in Hachiman (by Frankel out of Hareem Queen).
