The ICC Awards 2024 will feature 12 categories in men's and women's cricket, including awards for Emerging Players and Associate Cricketers. Nominations are announced between December 28 and December 30. Winners will be decided by a mix of fan voting on icc-cricket.com and a panel of experts.

She was the second highest run-scorer in women's T20Is for the year with two centuries and four half-centuries.

The Sri Lankan cricketer's form dipped during the Women's T20 World Cup. Her best performance came in Sri Lanka's historic win in the Asia Cup where she scored 61 runs against India in the final. This knock along with her bowling played a crucial role in Sri Lanka's first Asia Cup title.

Melie Kerr played a crucial role in New Zealand's maiden Women's T20 World Cup triumph. She scored 387 runs in 18 matches at an average of 24.18 with five scores of 40 or more. Kerr also claimed 29 wickets at an impressive average of 15.55 – the most women's T20I wickets in a calendar year.

In the T20 World Cup, Kerr amassed 135 runs and took a tournament record 15 wickets. Her best performance came in the final against South Africa. She scored 43 runs followed by a match winning bowling performance. Kerr dismissed Laura Wolvaardt and Anneke Bosch and finished with figures of 3/24.

Laura Wolvaardt scored 673 runs in 19 games at an impressive average of 39.58, including her maiden T20I century against Sri Lanka. Wolvaardt was the top scorer in the Women's T20 World Cup and led South Africa to their first final. She anchored South Africa's first win over Australia.

Ireland's Orla Prendergast scored 544 runs at an average of 36.26 while also taking 21 wickets at an impressive average of 12.9. Prendergast's standout performance came in the second T20I against England. She took 2/31 and then produced a career-best knock of 80 off 51 balls, hitting 13 boundaries.
