Wayne Rooney insists he is not taking his criticism personally as fans grow frustrated with Plymouth Argyle's recent poor run of results.
The pressure is mounting on former England captain Rooney after Sunday's 2-0 defeat by Oxford United.
Argyle have lost six of their last nine games and drawn three, with fans clamoring for Rooney's dismissal against Oxford.

But the 39-year-old Ronaldo said he believes the criticism will not affect him and can change the club's fortunes.
“There's frustration when we lose games and I understand that and I don't take it personally,” Rooney told the BBC.
“I think criticism is normal about the results we are going through.
“You have to feel like you can cheat. I'm going back I will watch the game again. I will assess the game and prepare for Bristol (City).
“I (understand the fans' reaction) I've been there myself when I was a kid and I've been there as a fan when you want to see your team win.”
Rooney was appointed Plymouth manager in May following the sacking of Ian Foster, but the former Manchester United player has endured a difficult time in England's second tier this year.
The Pilgrims have won just four Championship games all season, drawing six. 13 losses and 51 league goals conceded.
Asked if he felt secure in his job, Rooney said: “That's a question for the board. I understand the game of football, So, I will continue to work as hard as I can.
“For all of us, we're trying to do the right things and help win games, and unfortunately that hasn't been the case the last few weeks.”
