Team India's young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was not happy with the third umpire's decision on his dismissal in the second innings of the fourth Test match against Australia. Yashasvi Jaiswal argued with the on-field umpires after being caught behind despite not having a peak in the UltraEdge replays.
Earlier, Australia resumed the fifth day at 229/8. Australian tailenders Scott Boland and Nathan Lyon added six more runs to the total. Jasprit Bumrah finished the innings quickly, dismissing Lyon for 41 runs. Bumrah took his 13th five-wicket haul in Test cricket, finishing with figures of 5-57 from 24.4 overs.

The incident occurred on the fifth ball of the 71st over of India's second innings. Pat Cummins bowled the short ball as part of the planned fielding and Jaiswal attempted a pull shot but scored it. Alex Carey dived forward to take the catch just above the ground. However, the on-field referee ruled it out.
Australia took the Decision Review System (DRS) for a backlogged appeal. Replays showed no dent on the UltraEdge, but third umpire Sharfuddoula overturned the on-field call based on his decision from visual evidence of glove contact. Jaiswal expressed his displeasure and argued with the umpires.
“I see the ball made contact with the gloves. Joel, you have to change your decision,” said the third umpire.

“They can make of it what they like. That clearly hit the gauntlet.”
“As far as I'm concerned, there's no argument.”
