Dani Olmos' agent doubles down on speculation about leaving Barcelona

Dani Olmos' agent insists he remains solely committed to Barcelona as they battle to sign him for the second half of the season.

Since it is registered as a temporary emergency measure only in summer, Olmo saw his place in the Barcelona team relegated from La Liga on Dec. 31, with league rules stating players cannot re-sign after their initial deal has expired.

It has opened the door to a move away from Barcelona, with Olmo's contract including an option for him to leave on a free transfer if he doesn't sign up, but agent Andy Bara has previously confirmed Olmo doesn't want to leave.

Despite the fact that Olmo's registration has now officially expired, Bara once again pledged his commitment to the Blaugrana.

“It's a stressful situation for Dan as it would be for any other player,” Bara said GIVE ME SPORT. “But he is a great player and person, he tries to be calm. Of course, Dani is a winner and he likes to play the games, not watch them!

“We are not negotiating with any club. Dan is (a) Barcelona player and he wants to be a Barcelona player. He has made a great effort in his life to be at Barcelona. It was his desire for a long time. Barcelona is the first and last option! “Dani, his father, the family, me, we are not thinking about other options.”

Among the options available to Olmo are free transfers to players like Manchester United AND Manchester Cityboth of whom have been advised to take advantage of the uncertainty in Catalonia. When asked about links to the Premier League duo, Bara reiterated his own confidence that Barcelona will find a way to sign the 26-year-old.

“Of course, the best players are when the players are free, but emotions are also important,” continued Bara. “We've never made any career decisions for money. Dani plays football because he loves the game, he made a massive effort to be at Barcelona. I'm also happy to have Dani at Barcelona, he's one of the best players well in the world in one of the biggest clubs in the world.

“We respect president (Joan) Laporta and (sporting director) Deco. They made a big effort to bring Dan last summer. We like their project, it's a big project for the future, one of the best in world in the world. We fully believe that Barcelona will win all the titles in the future, as in the time of Messi.

“To be honest, I feel calm. It may feel strange, but I believe in President Laporta, Deco and I feel that they will find a solution for Dan. It's a massive club.

“I believe that Barcelona will finalize everything and make it happen. La Liga should help them, instead of these reports of Dani not being available for the national team, but I'm sure he will live at Barca for many years. He is happy at the club and Dani wants to be there.”
