Lauren Price has reignited her war of words with Natasha Jonas in preparation for their unification at the world championships on March 7.
WBA light heavyweight title Price takes on British rival Jonas, WBC and IBF 147lbs champion, at Royal Albert Hall, live Sky Sports.
Price has won every major title as an amateur and eventually wants to repeat the feat as a professional.
“I have big dreams and to become undisputed, there's nothing better than that in the professional ranks and it's just the beginning,” Price said Sky Sports News.
“I want to create a legacy. That's what I want to do. I want to bring the big nights back to Wales. It's a big fight in March. I believe I can win that, get through and then I want the biggest fights in boxing.”
March 7 could be her defining moment as a professional boxer. “It's a fight I've wanted for a long time. I think everybody knows I've been pushing for it. I believe you call yourself a world champion, you should fight anybody,” Price said.
“I'm in the professional game and I want to be the best and the best have to fight the best and that's it.”
The verbal sparring between Jonas and Price began immediately after both won their respective contests on the same card in December.
Price noted, “Jonas came out and said I think I'm better than what I am. But it just shows, the accolades I got as an amateur. She went to the Olympics, she didn't win a medal. I won a gold medal at the Olympics and more I didn't lose a lap like a pro.
“At the end of the day, you can say whatever you want. When the bell rings on March 7, we'll see who comes out on top.”
But Jonas, the more seasoned professional of the pair, is adamant she will win.
“I'm confident every time. I always believe I can win every time. That's why I'm in the game and that's why I want to fight the best. It's going to be a big fight,” said Jonas Sky Sports News.
“I respect everything Lauren brings, but I just think I'm better.
“I've been involved in what I believe is bigger than better. There's nothing that Lauren Price brings that I don't think intimidates me at all.”
