Tottenham Hotspur kick off the new year with a visit from Newcastle United as they look to rediscover some Premier League form.
The Lilywhites welcome the Magpies to north London on a three-match winless run and the mounting pressure on Ange Postecoglou could increase further if they again fail to pick up three points.
Brutal Spurs injury list has been a major factor in their recent struggles and they will be without the services of most of their back four against Alexander Isak and co. Defensive issues have plagued Postecoglou's side this season, but they will relish their chances to unsettle Newcastle at the other end of the pitch.
Here's how Tottenham can line up.
GC: Fraser Forster – Having initially looked assured when replacing the injured Guglielmo Vicario, Forster's air of confidence has disappeared in recent outings. A couple of shaky performances haven't helped a much-changed back four ahead of him.
RB: Pedro Porro – Porro could be the only member of Tottenham's first-choice back five available to Postecoglou for Newcastlehis visit and he is likely to be stalked by the ruthless Anthony Gordon.
CB: Radu Dragusin – The Romanian has struggled to impose himself since coming into an injury-hit defense and now has the almighty challenge of denying Isak. The red-hot forward has scored eight in his last six Premier League games.
CB: Archie Gray – Considering he's been a makeshift solution at quarterback, Gray has settled in remarkably well in his new role. However, like Dragusin, his credentials will be severely tested by Isaac on Saturday.
LB: Djed Spence – Destiny Udogie is the latest casualty at the back after a hamstring injury will rule him out for around six weeks. Spence, who missed the draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers through suspension, will replace him on the left wing.
DM: Yves Bissouma – Much of Newcastle's strength comes from a midfield trio of Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali and Joelinton. Mali international Bissouma will be key to preventing the Magpies from overrunning Spurs in the central areas.
DM: Pape Matar Sarr – Rodrigo Bentancur impressed against Wolves and even scored in the draw, but finds himself suspended once again after a fifth booking of the season.
RW: Brennan Johnson – The Welshman is developing an unwanted reputation as a streaky player, going on long scoring runs before fading into the background. Scored first in eight games against Wolves.
AM: Dejan Kulusevski – Once again, the Swede was the standout player for Tottenham last time out. Kulusevski is so often the beating heart for Spurs in the final third and will be integral in breaking down a defense that has kept three clean sheets in a row.
LW: Son Heung-min – Son's missed penalty against Wolves proved costly and the South Korean has not featured in recent times.
ST: Dominic Solanke – Solanke has been blanked in the last two but will aim to capitalize on Fabian Schar's suspension on Saturday. It could be a battle of two impressive and imposing centre-forwards in north London.
