Melbourne Renegades batsman Jonathan Wells has had all the luck in the ongoing match against Melbourne Stars in Big Bash League (BBL) 2024-25. The 23rd game of the tournament between the teams is played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne.
Jonathan Wells is playing a decent hand for his team in the ongoing Big Bash League match and has ensured that he has helped his team post a decent total on the board. The right-hander came out to bat at number 5 and bailed his team out of trouble as they struggled to open with the bat.
Wells came to bat as Melbourne Renegades were left reeling at 53/3. The right-hander soaked in all the pressure and made sure he got some runs under his belt for the team, taking his team to a total of around 170, which at one point looked impossible, especially with the team losing early wickets.
But it's fair to say that Wells also had his share of luck. During the third ball of the 15th over, Peter Siddle bowled a delivery that almost cleared the batter but the fast bowler was unlucky to get the wicket under his belt.
Jonathan Wells made room and looked to head it through the offside; the ball angled and took the inside edge. It went to Sam Harper's left and the batsman dived and got both hands but couldn't get it. The bail also lit up when the ball went past the stumps.
