Luke Littler etched his name into the history books by becoming the youngest ever winner of the PDC World Darts tournament on Friday night.
The 17-year-old beat Michael van Gerwen at Alexandra Palace to break the previous record as the youngest winner.
The Dutchman was 24 years old when he won his first title in 2014, but he has bowed to the sport's new sensation on the biggest stage.
Littler was visibly emotional after winning the match 7-3, capping a magnificent campaign that saw him win another 10 titles in 2024.
But it is rocket's biggest prize and the Englishman admits he dreams of lifting his famous trophy.
After the win, he said: “Everybody dreams of lifting this trophy. You have to cross a difficult field. I can't believe it.
“I learned a lot. Last year in the semi-finals against Rockcross I lost 1-0 for the first time, obviously against Luke.

“But tonight and throughout the tournament, we just need to get off to a fast start.
“I rewatched all the matches with Luke earlier today and had visions.
“I won the best (award) even though I may have completely ended the 2025 achievement.
“I'd like to win more than 10 trophies this year, but if nothing else in 2025, I've picked the big one.”
Van Gerwen is humble in defeat.
Van Gerwen didn't play badly on the night and couldn't live with Littler's average and high-percentage finish.
The win for him was an incredible recovery after a tough year for the Netherlands, but he's still proud of his effort.

He said: “I went 4-0 behind and I thought it was unfair. But that's the way it is.
“You have to attack and try to fight back. After losing 4-0 I was definitely not the worst player among us.
“But fair play to him; He did it every chance he got and every time he hurt me.
“I had a lovely race and enjoyed every moment. You all know I've come a long way and struggled with my own game. But I was very disappointed with myself at the start of the match and when you do that to a player of his ability, you It will be trouble.
“You have to take it on the chin and walk off the stage as a champion. I always take my hat off to the people who beat me and if I beat them in a good game, it's fair to them. That's what sports do.
“I am 35 years old; He is 17 years old. A star is born every 17 years.
“He deserves it. He played well. it hurts But this is what it should be. You wouldn't be an athlete if you didn't hurt. I've got to keep going and I'm definitely going to keep playing better.”
Van Gerwen's consolation prize was a cool £200,000, while Littler took home a whopping £500,000 prize.
