Cristiano Ronaldo recently celebrated his two-year milestone with Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League, but revealed his desire to win more trophies.

The Portuguese superstar, who was named Middle East Player of the Year 2024 at the Globe Soccer Awards, has scored a record 74 goals in 83 games since joining the club on a free transfer in January 2023.

Reflecting on his trip to Riyadh, Ronaldo, who will turn 40 on February 5, shared his thoughts with the league's official media channel.

He said: “I am happy and my family is happy. We started a new life in this beautiful country. life is good Football is good.

“Individually and collectively, we are still there. We are still improving.”

With over 900 career goals and holding the world record for most international goalscorers, Ronaldo has highlighted the Saudi Pro League's progress since his arrival.

Ronaldo said, “For me, the league is growing and the star players are making the league better. It's a matter of pride that they are competing more,” Ronaldo said.

“First of all, let's say it's a star – it's an honor to be here. But what I'm hoping for is that the league continues to improve over the next five to 10 years. Not only the first teams, but also the academies.

“This is my dream, not only for the future of the league with Saudi (players), but also for the country and to compete with other leagues. And this is to get to the national and the league and try to stay at that level.

“People don't look up to Cristiano as a role model, not just on the pitch.

Since joining Al Nassr, Ronaldo has helped the club win the Arab Club Champions Cup in 2023.

The club missed out on additional silverware last season, but scored a record 35 goals in its first Saudi Pro League campaign.

Reflecting on his achievements, Ronaldo said: “Everything is easier when you win trophies and to have the opportunity to win in my first year here is amazing.

“But I want more. I will continue to push and help Al Nassr team to win championships. I believe this year will be a good year for Al Nassr.”
