Pakistan national cricket team suffered a massive blow during the second test against South Africa national cricket team. Young opening batsman Saim Ayub has been ruled out not only for the ongoing game but also for the next six weeks of cricket action.

Pakistan national cricket team's opening batsman Saim Ayub suffered a gruesome injury during the first day of the ongoing second test against South Africa national cricket team. The final game of the two-match series between the teams takes place at Newlands in Cape Town.

However, scans revealed that Ayub had fractured his ankle and will miss the match. The batsman will also be out for around 6 weeks which means he could miss the tri-series against New Zealand national cricket team and South Africa national cricket team.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed Ayub's injury, saying he will miss action for six weeks. The governing body confirmed that the batsman will remain with the team and will travel back to Pakistan with the team after the match. The statement read:

“Pakistan opener Saim Ayub has been ruled out of competitive cricket for up to six weeks with a fractured right ankle suffered during the opening day of the second men's cricket test against South Africa at Newlands , Friday.

“An MRI on Friday afternoon confirmed the fracture, which was immobilized in an Ankle Medical Moon Boot. Although Saim will miss the Test, he will remain with the team and will travel back to Pakistan with the team after the match. “

Saim Ayub scored 14 points in the first half and then followed it up with 27 points in the second half. The opening batsman himself would be highlighted by the manner in which he was dismissed. The ongoing match will be a tough one for Pakistan.
