Returning as captain due to absence Jasprit BumrahVirat Kohli inspired his team to perform better on Day 3 of the fifth Test against Australia in Sydney. Kohli, who is known for his devastating power and sharp skills, was responsible for leading the Indian army in the big encounter. The leadership of the legendary batsman was evident as India secured three crucial wickets, leaving the game in good hands. Kohli, who has never been shy about interacting with the crowd, was also entertained by his magical 'sandpaper', reminding Australian fans of their infamous 2018 ball-tampering scandal.
Virat Kohli's 'Sandpaper' style hides the impression
Kohli, the mad sportsman, made headlines with his lively handball following Steve Smith'removed. After Prasidh Krishna dismissed Smith for just four runs, Kohli referred to the Australian team as “sandpaper”, referring to the 2018 ball-tampering mess that Smith had witnessed, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft banned from their positions. The incident in Cape Town, where sandpaper was used to change the shape of the ball, remains one of the most painful in Australian cricket history. Kohli's cheeky celebration not only fired up his teammates but also added drama to an already tense contest. This proved Kohli's ability to criticize the opposition and the crowd, and put his focus on his leadership.

Indian bowlers are batting as Prasidh Krishna shines
Indian Bowling War, Bumrah's absence due to injuryit started with a steady voice, accepting additions and offers freely in the morning session. However, Prasidh Krishna stepped up to do the best. The slow walker threw the first punch and gave chase Konstas himselfwho tried to shoot high but was caught in the middle Washington Sundar.
Krishna then made two important achievements, removing Marnus Labuschagne for 6 and Smith for 4, leaving Australia reeling at 58/3. His steady line and sharp pace kept the Australian batsmen at bay, giving India a lifeline. By lunch, Australia stood at 71/3and Travis Head (5 not out) and Usman Khawaja (19 not out) at the crease, still need 91 runs to win.
India won while Australia won in Sydney
Earlier in the day, the Indian batsmen failed to add to their overnight total of 142/6, when they were bowled out for 157. Pat Cummins and Scott Boland dominated the morning session, picking up two wickets each and leaving India with little target to defend. The lack of much contribution from the tail marked the Indian batting in the second innings, putting the bowlers under a lot of pressure. Despite the lows, Kohli's presence and Krishna's bravery ensured India stayed in the fight. With 91 runs still needed for Australia to win the Test and seal the series 3-1, the stage is set for the final on Day 4.
