When is the deadline?
Deadline day is actually falling Monday, February 3, 2025 The English window closes at 11pm UK time.
When does the winter window close across Europe?
The window for most of Europe's major leagues – including France (13:00 GMT), Germany, Scotland and Spain – also closes Monday, February 3, 2025 although times vary.
Meanwhile, Italian clubs have until 19:00 Saturday February 1 to do their job and the transfer window in Turkey is closing Tuesday 11.02.2025.
Further, the window is closing in Saudi Arabia January 30.
What about the WSL?
The winter window opens for clubs in the Women's Super League and the Women's Championship Wednesday 01.01.2025 and closes at 11 p.m Thursday 30.01.2025.
The WSL and Women's Championship window closes at 11pm UK time.
Can clubs sign players outside the transfer window?
Signings are often announced outside the transfer window, but the player will not be able to be registered to play for his new team until the window opens.
What about free agents?
Free agents can sign for a team at any time, as they do not have a contract with another club.
If a player is due to become a free agent at the beginning of July, they can arrange a transfer to a foreign club, but will not officially be their player until their contract expires.
How many loan players can clubs sign?
The Premier League handbook states that Premier League clubs cannot register more than two players on loan at any one time.
The maximum number of loans a club can register in the same season is four, and a club cannot borrow more than one player from the same club at any one time.
Premier League clubs cannot loan a player they acquired in the same transfer window to another Premier League club.
A Premier League club is not allowed to loan more than one of its goalkeepers to another Premier League club.
EFL regulations allow clubs more freedom to loan players, but a maximum of five can be named in a matchday squad.
No club in the Championship, League One or League Two can sign more than four players on temporary loan from another club in any season – and no more than two of them can be over 23 (the cut-off age for players is 30. June ahead of the loan season).
Any loan that later becomes a permanent transfer does not count towards the club's quota.
EFL clubs are allowed to make an emergency loan if all their professional goalkeepers are unavailable through injury, suspension or international call-up.
