England versus Australia is the biggest rivalry. The biggest series is Australia vs India – Michael Vaughan

Michael Vaughan shared his opinion on the same, saying that while the Ashes is the biggest rivalry, India vs Australia is the biggest series right now. He spoke about the reasons behind his choice and said.

“No, England versus Australia is the biggest rivalry. The biggest series at the moment is Australia vs India. The Ashes rivalry goes back 150 years. You know, this recent modern rivalry is the best series of, you know, the last 20 odd years actually. You would say that India versus Australia was the best series to watch, both home and away. I think the most contested, I'm never sure what's going to happen,” said Michael Vaughan

“But in terms of rivalry, certainly the Ashes is still the biggest rivalry. 50, 60 years, this rivalry continues. The problem with the Ashes is that my team has not been able to travel down and compete. We compete very strongly at home and that makes it a great contest. The last two series in the UK have been outstanding, right up there with any series.

“But the problem with the English side getting on a plane and the 24-hour journey, it was a problem and we couldn't compete. So as far as the pageant goes, it was nowhere near home and away”, said Michael Vaughan at the Club The Prairie Fire Podcast.

They were stunned – Michael Vaughan on India's performance in BGT

Michael Vaughan also spoke about the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He said that after India won the first Test in Perth, they were stunned. He pointed out that the Rohit Sharma-led team fought hard but they failed to throw a punch back. Michael Vaughan added:

“Whereas India, Australia, the competition was very, very good, both home and away. So, the best competition in the world, but it's not the biggest rivalry. But let's be honest, India won the first game in Perth and played great Since then, they were stunned, indeed would have lost in Brisbane, the series would have been done and dusted.

“You have to say this series, as much as the cricket has been brilliant, a lot of it, especially the last three games, has been very one-sided. Australia managed to take the lead and play some great cricket and India were not able to find a way to punch back. concluded Michael Vaughan.
