Premier League rivals watch Marcus Rashford surprise loan move

Tottenham Hotspur have been named as suitors in the race to sign Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford.

After falling down the pecking order under new manager Ruben Amorim, Rashford has been made available for tRANSFER this month, but the significant cost of a deal – a reported fee of £40m plus Rashford's huge wages – has left clubs borrowing instead.

AC Milan is believed to lead the race after that reports emerged of an official offer earlier this week, but Daily Mail insist they are not alone as Tottenham are chasing Rashford's signature too.

Spurs are in a significant selection crisis, with Rodrigo Bentancur's scary injury during Wednesday's Carabao Cup semi-final first leg win over Liverpool further depleting the numbers available to manager Ange Postecoglou.

In attack, Richarlison and Wilson Odobert are dealing with hamstring injuries, while there are doubts over Timo Werner's role behind Postecoglou openly criticized the German last month.

A loan move for Rashford would undoubtedly provide much-needed help in a number of positions across the board Spurs' the first line, but if united would be prepared to ship the striker to a side currently a point ahead of them in the Premier League standings remains to be seen.

A lot could come down to Rashford's wages. Reports suggest Milan are reluctant to pay even half his wages, worth over £300,000-a-week, which could open the door to Spurs if they can present a superior offer. Borussia Dortmund and Juventus are also linked.
