Jay Shah took over as ICC chairman on 1 December 2024, bringing years of experience in cricket administration. His cricketing journey began with the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) in 2009, and since then he has become one of the most powerful figures in world cricket.

During his time as BCCI secretary, Shah oversaw several important moments. He played a major role in the development of the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the world's largest cricket venue. It also helped India host the entire 2023 Cricket World Cup.
Major decisions under Shah's leadership
Since taking charge at the ICC, Shah has already made some big calls. One of the most talked about decisions was the settlement of hosting rights for the 2025 Champions Trophy. “The ICC board has approved that the matches between INDIA and Pakistan during ICC events from 2024 to 2027 will be played at neutral venues,” said a statement from the ICC.
