Liverpool star Darwin Nunez has liked a post on social media asking him to join their UCL rivals.

Liverpool striker Darwin Nunes liked the post on the social network linking him to the Champions League club AC Milan. Nunes, who has struggled to secure regular game time under new manager Arne Slott, has been linked with a potential move to the Italian giants in the January window.

The Uruguayan forward joined the Reds in 2022 following a record £85m move from Benfica. However, he hasn't lived up to high expectations and is currently behind Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz in Slot's rankings.

AC Milan TMN previously reported that the club have opened talks with Liverpool over a half-season loan deal that includes an obligation to buy for £37.4m in the summer. After liking Nunez's Instagram story in an AC Milan shirt, that speculation will no doubt become even more enticing.

Although Milan has been closely linked to Darwin Nunez, a conflicting report Mail Simon Jones suggests Liverpool have not received any information about a potential transfer from the Italian club.

Meanwhile, Arne Slot himself said that he is confident in the ability of the forward to influence the games.

“For me, it has an impact. If you just look at the goals, he hasn't scored as many goals as he would like to, or we want to hit the number 9, but he has an impact on his work rate. He's part of a team that scores a lot of goals and wins a lot,” he said (via the BBC)

Liverpool are in good form and are currently leading the Premier League table. There is a six point difference from the second place Arsenalthey played one game more than “reds”.

Liverpool legend Trent Alexander-Arnold shares his thoughts on a potential departure

While Nunes has been linked with a transfer, many reports suggest that Liverpool vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold could join Real Madrid next summer. The defender's contract expires at the end of the season, allowing him to open talks with other clubs this month.

Liverpool legend Jamie CarragherIn a post on the social media platform, X stressed that the club and its players must focus on winning the Premier League, where they are currently in the lead.

“The most important thing for @LFC in 2025 is to win the #PremierLeague. No one's contract or future should stand in the way! I love Trent as a guy and a player but his team would tell Real Madrid to bid. and also LFC I knew he would give it up. This is a cover for themselves when he leaves for free,” he tweeted.

The Reds are set for a tough game this month, starting with a crucial clash against Manchester United at Anfield on January 5. They will then travel to London to face Tottenham in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup on January 8.
