Tom Bissell caused a shock to pick up the first PDC Tour card from the final stage of Q-School with a 6-5 final victory over Bradley Brooks.
It was Bissell's first time at Milton Keynes for Q-School who had never played on the PDC circuit before and will now be guaranteed two years on the professional circuit.
In the final phase of the European Q-School, Viktor Tingstrom beat Jimmy van Schie 6-4 to earn his 2025 Tour Card.
The final was closely contested, with the game going toe-to-toe until Bissell broke Brooks in the sixth game and Brooks fought back in the eighth to make it 4-4.
With the game tied at 5-5 in the race to six, Bissell's 14-dart leg earned him the win and his Tour Card.
“I think I'm ready for it,” Brissell said afterwards, expecting to face Luke Littler and Luke Humphries on tour.
“I'm really stoked, just over the moon. I've probably been playing for about 10 years… I've always been a bit low-key with it, I've never backed myself up, but today I had to and it paid off.”
Former world junior champion Brooks averaged a brilliant 103 in his semi-final against Aden Kirk, while Bissell beat Tom Sykes to book a place in the final, also winning John Henderson 6-5 on the road.
'Queen of the Palace' Fallon Sherrock reached the top 32 before losing 6-3 in a hard-fought battle with Adam Lipscomb.
Sherrock averaged 91.83 on the day after starting 6-0 against Arron Monk before beating John Brown 6-1 in the first 64.
After a 6-4 win against Steve Hine, Beau Greaves she suffered a 6-3 loss to Josh Payne in the first 64, dropping her to 51st in the rankings with two days of the final stage remaining.
'The Wizard' Simon Whitlock made it into the top 32 before losing 6-4 to Adam Smith-Neale while Mervyn King entered the top 64 on the first day of the final stage with a 6-3 loss to Ryan O'Connor.
How does the final phase of Q-School work?
A total of 29 PDC Tour Cards will be on offer in the final stage from 9 to 12 January, with each of the daily winners in the UK and Europe receiving an automatic Tour Card.
The remaining 21 Tour Cards will be awarded to players from the UK and European Q School Final Stage Orders of Merit, with an additional 12 Tour Cards on offer through the European Q School, while nine players will go through the UK Rankings.
Any ties in the respective Q School Orders of Merit will be split as follows based on the results of all matches: Leg Difference, Legs Won, then DartConnect Average. If the players still cannot be divided, a playoff will be organized.
