Varun Aaron announced his retirement from all forms of acting on Friday, January 10 through a heartwarming post on his Instagram handle. He had made headlines by hitting 153 kmph during the 2010-11 Vijay Hazare Trophy final against Gujarat, showing off his raw pace.
Unfortunately, the Indian pacer's career was plagued by recurring injuries, he could represent the country in a total of 18 international matches, finishing with just 29 wickets. However, Aaron was regularly playing domestic cricket for Jharkhand.

But injuries forced Varun Aaron to announce his retirement from red cricket in February and now he has finally given up all forms of the game. The fast bowler played his last game for Jharkhand against Goa in the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy on 10 January.

Announcing the timing of his cricket career, Aaron said on Instagram: “For the past 20 years I have lived, breathed and thrived in the rush of bowling. Today, it is with immense gratitude that I officially announce my retirement from representative cricket.”
