Kyogo Furuhashi scored a brace as Celtic were made to work for a late 4-1 win at Ross County to move 18 points clear in the Scottish Premiership.
The Hoops dominated from kick-off as they looked to extend their 2025 winning streak to three games after the Old Firm broke down, Kyogo firing in from Alistair Johnston's brilliant pass to send them on their way.
However, Jordan White leveled for the county from the penalty spot after the break following a lengthy VAR review for Johnston's foul on new signing Kieran Phillips.
After Kyogo put Celtic back in front with a powerful header, they were then awarded a penalty in stoppage time for James Brown's challenge on Reo Hatate and Arne Engels converted the second try.
Luke McCowan hammered home the fourth after taking three touches in the box to send the Hoops beyond the reach of Rangers, who play on Sunday. Ross County remains 10th.
Kyog's key to Celtic's versatility
Brendan Rodgers moved Kyogoo on after Daizen Maeda joined James Forrest and Nicolas Kuhn on the injured list and Luis Palma was given mercy.
Visiting goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel looked braced for the -5C temperatures but faced two strikes inside the first two minutes as Celtic conceded the ball twice on an icy pitch. Neither one was on target.
Adam Idah curled a shot into the side netting as Celtic settled down and the Irishman then set up Johnston to force the first save with a shot towards goal.
Matthew MacDermid denied a penalty claim for Celtic when Reo Hatate got in front of Elijah Campbell and was thrown off balance after the pair collided.
Kyogo missed a good chance when he slotted the ball straight at Jordan Amisah from close range, but opened the scoring in the 40th minute when he tapped in Johnston's perfect cross after a slick move.
Amisah made a double stop from Idaho and Furuhashi from left-back Alex Valle's cross before home coach Don Cowie made a double change at half-time, bringing Kieran Phillips and White on target.
Hyun-jun Yang forced a save early in the half, but County's substitution paid off when White slotted home after Johnston pushed Phillips through on goal.
Rodgers brought on 21-year-old striker Johnny Kenny for his debut after the Irishman had a prolific loan spell with Shamrock Rovers, but he shot straight at Amisah from 10 yards at the first opportunity.
Celtic went back in front when Engels crossed from the left and Furuhashi headed into the top corner despite Amisah getting a hand out of the effort.
Engels then scored from a replayed penalty after James Brown was eventually booked for a challenge on Yang following a VAR review. Amisah saved the first attempt but was adjudged to have gone off his line after another VAR intervention.
McCowan slotted home eight minutes into stoppage time shortly after good skill.
