Sunday's FA Cup tie with Manchester United gives Mikel Arteta an opportunity to shuffle his squad, but Tuesday night's defeat to Newcastle means victory is important ahead of the North London Derby.
Arsenal's team has been hampered by illness and injury in recent weeks, although Arteta went as hard as he could in their first game. Carabao Cup semi-final against Newcastle. The xG figures pointed towards the Magpies' dominance, but their subpar performance in both boxes meant their 2-0 defeat was all but guaranteed.
Arts will want to lift spirits ahead of next Wednesday's derby, with the atmosphere inside the Emirates beginning to suffer as a result of Arsenal's monotony on the pitch.
Arsenal are without four players this weekend, and here's the squad the Gunners boss could pick for United's visit to FA Cup the third round.
GK: Net – Cup tied in the Carabao Cup and in the shadow of David Raya for Premier League In the outings, Neto has yet to be seen in Arsenal colours. That could change on Sunday.
RB: Jurrien Timber – Timber was on the scoresheet in December's game with United and he will aim to dampen the threat provided by Diogo Dalot after Trent Alexander-Arnold made him look like a superstar last weekend.
CB: William Saliba – There is little room for rest for Saliba, who has been used over and over by Arteta this term.
CB: Jakub Kiwior – If Kiwior makes the squad, Arteta will make sure he holds Saliba's hand. Poles fight differently.
LB: Riccardo Calafiori – The Italian's minutes are being managed by Arteta and he was not involved at all on Tuesday night against Newcastle. Calafiori should take the title here, but it will be interesting to see who plays on the left wing for the derby.
CM: Jorginho – The experienced midfielder has entered the final months of his Arsenal career and starts will come just before the summer. Jorginho has dropped off the pace in recent outings, but the #6 favorite could be saved for next Wednesday.
CM: Mikel Merino – Another summer arrival who did not enter the fray in midweek, Merino started last weekend against Brighton and is a strong contender to come on for Declan Rice.
CM: Martin Odegaard – Odegaard has been off the pace since Bukayo Saka succumbed to injury and there's no doubt Arsenal want more from their creative talisman.
RW: Raheem Sterling – Sterling returned to the bench in midweek after recovering from a knee injury and this is a good opportunity for Arteta to experiment with another Saka alternative.
ST: Gabriel Jesus – Kai Havertz barely made it past the 90 minutes last weekend after missing the games at Brentford and Brighton through illness, but he doesn't need to start here with Jesus available.
LW: Gabriel Martinelli – Arsenal's left-back options have suffered this season and supporters would suggest that Arteta is simply choosing the lesser of two evils by opting for Martinelli over Leandro Trossard.
