The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the upcoming national team ICC Men's Champions Trophy 2025is set to be managed by Pakistan and United Arab Emirates. The team has been impressive, with one notable exception: the wicket-keeper's batting Litton Das.
Despite his amazing work in this film Bangladesh Premier League (BPL)where he scored a match-winning century Rajshahi Durbar in 18 games, Das was not selected in the top flight.
Litton Das admits why he was fired
Speaking candidly about his exclusion from the squad, Das revealed that the decision regarding his Champions Trophy selection was beyond his control, as it was made by the selectors. He agreed that his job was to do it, and he couldn't do it. Although he feels a little disappointed about the situation, he maintains the same attitude before and after the game, stressing that the past is behind him.
“The Champions Trophy selection was not in my hands. The selectors called. They decide who will play. My job is to do it. I couldn't do it. I think I was disappointed by it. I have the same feeling before and after the game today. The day has already passed,“Litton was quoted by ESPNCricinfo.
He also admits that his removal from the group was due to his absence, saying that there is nothing to hide and that it is a natural, straightforward reason. “Maybe not for the selectors but it is easy to find the reason why I was not selected in the team. I was fired because I wasn't doing it. There is nothing hidden about it. basic, normal,” he added.
Das vows to change and stay focused
The batting Wicker-keeper admitted his lack of form recently and showed commitment to improving his game. He emphasized that progress will take time and his focus is on personal growth rather than proving anything to others. Although he has not played well in recent months, he wants to be consistent, especially after his recent innings against Durbar Rajshahi.
“I didn't play well, so I need to improve my game. I won't change immediately, so I have to keep trying. People like it when I get runs. I'm not out there to prove it to anyone. I just look at the controls. I don't think I was playing well for the last few months. I will try to be consistent from now on, especially after this innings,” concluded Das.

Das's ODI struggles
Das' exclusion is all the more surprising given his past success in limited-overs cricket. However, his recent struggles in the ODI format have raised concerns. Ever since the memorable years of controversy Afghanistan in 2022, he failed to reach half-century in his last 13 ODI matches as a top batsman.
