Sydney Thunder dominate Perth Scorchers and win by 61 runs
Thunder registered a commanding a 61-run victory over the Scorchers for the 33rd match of the 2024-25 BBL at the Sydney Showground Stadium. Batting first, the Thunder posted a competitive 158/7, thanks to a steady 53 overs Konstas himself and a blistering unbeaten 37 from 13 balls and Player of the Match Tom Andrews. The Scorchers' bowling was led by Lance Morriswho said 3/43 but turned out to be expensive.
In reply, the Scorchers collapsed to 97 all out in 17.2 overs, unable to deal with the Thunder attack. Chris Green (3/13) and Nathan McAndrew (2/21) shone with the ball, demolishing the Scorchers' line-up. The Scorchers' most famous offering came from Aaron Hardie (22) is Jason Behrendorff (17 not out), but the lack of association cost them. Strong play, including two key runs, sealed the win for the Thunder, boosting their playoff hopes.
