Sydney Sixers won the toss and elected to bowl first. The game plan seemed to pay off, as the players kept the Strikers top order. Strikers bowled well but could not break the back of Sixers. Jamie Overton and Lloyd Pope both picked up two wickets, respectively Brendan Doggett, Jordan Buckinghamand Henry Thornton each took one wheel. Despite the pressure from the Strikers bowlers, the Sixers managed to chase it down, with Smith leading the way. Sydney Sixers ended their innings at 183/7 in 20 overs, securing a thrilling three-wicket victory. Smith was named Player of the Match for his knock in the match.
